ICAI’s June 2020 newsletter out now

18 Jun 2020

The Independent Commission for Aid Impact (ICAI) has today published its June newsletter, featuring a round-up of the aid watchdog’s latest activity.

The newsletter looks back on ICAI’s recent reviews and reports, including our evidence to the International Development Committee for its inquiries on aid effectiveness, the Gavi replenishment, and our Newton Fund review. It also looks ahead to some of ICAI’s forthcoming reports, such as our nutrition, African Development Bank, and modern slavery reviews.

ICAI chief commissioner Dr Tamsyn Barton also reflects on the importance of robust, independent scrutiny during these unprecedented times. She highlights that ICAI is working with departmental and parliamentary colleagues to ensure that scrutiny continues following the government’s decision to merge our sponsor department, DFID, with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
