New information note announced looking at UK support for the Global Fund

17 Aug 2022

ICAI is today announcing a new information note looking at the UK’s support for the Global Fund to fight AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria, ahead of the seventh replenishment process taking place later this year.

The UK is a founding member and long-time partner of the Global Fund. It is the third largest donor, with total contributions of £4.18 billion to date.

This information note will provide a description of the UK’s support to the Global Fund since 2019. This period includes the COVID-19 pandemic, the merger which created the new Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, UK aid reprioritisation exercises and the new strategy for international development. It will also look at the investment case for the Global Fund’s seventh replenishment.

This information note is being conducted in addition to ICAI’s 2022-23 workplan, announced in February 2022, as it is an area of interest to the International Development Committee’s ICAI sub-Committee.
