A new paper from the Independent Commission for Aid Impact (ICAI) about the role of UK aid in boosting the country’s impact and influence in the world has been published today by Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee.

The Independent Commission for Aid Impact (ICAI) has today published its Annual Report which reflects on the work of the aid watchdog during a period of significant external change.

An ICAI review of the Newton Fund, a £735 million research partnerships fund, has today been endorsed by a parliamentary sub-committee, which warned that the UK government needs to address “serious” value for money concerns in how the fund is managed.

UK aid has been “mostly effective” at helping some of the poorest and most vulnerable in Ghana – but as the country works to become less reliant on aid, the UK should take care not to scale back its financial support too quickly, a new report from the Independent Commission for Aid Impact (ICAI) has warned.
