Summary

This review on the UK emergency response in the Horn of Africa was published in September 2012, and ICAI awarded a green-amber score. We made three recommendations, and published a follow-up to this report in June 2014.

In early 2011 the Horn of Africa faced a humanitarian crisis which affected over 12 million people. This report looks at the effectiveness and value for money of the UK’s £200 million emergency response to this crisis.
